Lisa and Dave’s classes were exactly what I needed to go from a backyard hobby grower to an actual producer. Both of their classes were instructional and easy to do at your own pace. The resources they provide you with are wonderful. I still refer back weekly. My favorite aspect of the classes was that they both have Facebook groups where you can post questions that Lisa and Dave moderate and answer. Also if they change anything in the course, you have lifetime access! I wish I could post pictures of my bouquets before I took this class and after. This class is a Godsend. TAKE IT. I’ve also taken a MUCH more expensive popular flower farming school course and if I could go back I would save the money to only take Lisa and Dave’s classes. Thank you Lisa and Dave for giving me everything I need to build and sustain a profitable flower business!!

It took me over 6 months to make this review - not because I didn't know what to say... but because I had SO much to say I was overwhelmed with how I could get it into the fewest amount of words to get the point across to stop thinking about it and enroll. This course has me on a successful path in year 1 of flower farming. So many times I find myself saying "Lisa said..." and the few times I swayed from what was recommended I found my list of changes for next year included what 'Lisa said' instead of the alternate route I took. This course saved me years if not a career in flower farming. I don't think I would have made it past month 1 of seed starting without crying and giving up. Instead - I can talk your ear off all day long about what I've learned and how I've put it to work in my own farm - and I haven't had tears yet. Lisa is a believer in all of us - and my life has forever changed because this course. She's given me the confidence to try unconventional things and just because someone says 'the snow is still on the mountain, you can't be planting' I prove them wrong. I love everything about this course - makes me feel a bit like a superhero of sorts (and it helps that my kids think that of me now too!). If you've had any doubt I hope this has eliminated it - don't overthink. Register today!

Janie Hansen – May 30I have learned so much from Lisa Mason Ziegler’s class, her free videos, and live blogs. Three years ago, I only knew enough to plant the beds around my house. This year the farm where I work has put me in charge of their flower program: designing and planting a field of 7,000 flowers, and marketing them in our farmstore. I could not have done this without the knowledge I’ve gained from Lisa’s courses. Love that I can continue learning with updated information she provides.
Jeanne – May 30This class is so good. Lisa gives a thorough look at flower farming, from obtaining a business license to insurance to selling and of course growing. She is generous with her time and knowledge. She’s funny and practical.
Heather Champney – May 30I cannot say enough about Lisa’s courses and the impact they have had on my flower farming and teaching adventures. My middle school students and I took her inaugural course in 2018 (and every course since then) and our little flower farm is BLOOMING! Lisa’s down to earth, easy to follow, practical way of teaching infused with her kindness and compassion make the course an experience worth every minute and penny of investment.

Sarah Wood – I loved Lisa’s course. I’m six months into starting our flower farm and I refer back to the videos often! Lisa is experienced, knowledgeable and so funny. Her can do attitude is empowering for newbies like myself. Well worth the investment to get started and I know it is a resource I will keep using in the future as well. Thank you š
Deb Woller – I loved this course and the FB group. I love listening to Lisa and reading her books. I have learned so very much from her! I have gone back to listen to her or to the FB group many times. Lisa is more than a wealth of information she is an amazing gem in a flower garden!!
Shelia Walls – Loved this course! I took it last winter and I am continuing to refer back to classes this year! Such a great tool to have available! Plus the Facebook group to ask questions ongoing is another wonderful asset!
Myra Stecca – I was so skeptical at first when I signed up for Lisa’s Flower Farming Course. I had spent the same amount of money on another course the previous winter and was so disappointed by the content and quality and didn’t want to go through that again. š
At that time I had been growing flowers for several years, selling casually for one, and was ready for some real practical instruction on how to proceed to the next level. I finally took the plunge and signed up and can honestly say that Lisa Mason Ziegler’s Flower Farming Course has completely transformed how I think about growing! She truly covers all the facets of the business and mechanics of growing and selling flowers for profit and truly has a gift for effectively sharing her wealth of knowledge with her endearing southern drawl. As valuable as her well designed classes, live discussions and video and printable resources are the connections and feedback from the other students in your class via the closed Facebook group (and you don’t have to use Facebook to participate). If you want to transform your dream of growing and selling flowers into reality then, TAKE THIS COURSE! You will not be disappointed.
Alesha Higinbotham – Very helpful. Her books are priceless and a must have also. Tons of awesome info!!!
Krista Reising – I am a very visual person and feared that the videos would not hold my attention….I could not of been more wrong. I took a class last year, which was more than double the price. I assumed, since the other class was more expensive, it would have more information. Not the case….. this class is way more informative and I finally feel I knowledge to start a flower farm. I will be a lifelong follower of Lisa!! Thank you for all of the knowledge.
Chrissy – AWESOME!!!
I can’t say enough about LISA and her “Basics” course! So much useful information shared in a way that’s easy to understand and interesting to listen to. In addition to her books, this is a resource that I have revisited time after time to review and reinforce what she taught. Lifetime access to the course information and the private Facebook group are priceless! Thank you Lisa for sharing your knowledge!
Molly Fay Flower Farm – We took Lisa’s course in 2018 as we were starting our farm. She imparts so much practical knowledge in easy to understand slides and videos. And unlike other courses, the support Lisa provides after the course is absolutely invaluable. She really cares about your success!
Janet Kramka – We had one year of flower farming under our belt and had also taken a different educational course prior to that first year of farming. We wondered (hilariously) if the “basics” was too simple for us. We quickly saw how much more we had to learn and found Lisa’s style to be straightforward, down-to-earth, well organized, and very informative. She covers a broad range of topics well. Would highly recommend to anyone–even if they’ve already had a whole year or two (or three or four…) of farming experience.
Sandra Parker – I highly recommend this course! Lisa, this is my third year into flower farming for profit (eventually!). I’m a retired land use planner who loves flowers and took up the farming challenge to keep healthy. Your course was just what I needed at this point! I want to grow a profitable business and “The Basics” reinforced some of the things I was already doing, and provided so much more! It’s a confidence builder, a tremendous resource for where to find seed and farming material, efficient farming practices, and how to plan for and grow successful crops each growing season. Thank you for sharing your experience with all of us; plus, setting up ongoing support through access to other farmers in the Facebook alumni group. Thank you for designing such a wonderful online learning and continuing education experience!
Kari Mulderink – I finished Lisa’s course the fall of 2020 and I wholeheartedly recommend it! It is full of all kinds of very practical, down to earth, simple practices which if followed will lead to success in flower gardening, flower farming, and also starting a great business. I am new to both farming and running a business and I feel empowered and educated about what it takes to begin. Something that really sets this course above and beyond others I’ve seen is the ongoing personal support that Lisa provides through personal fb groups, fb lives, and the live question and answer sessions. All questions get answered! I have nothing but glowing recommendations about this course, but really what I’ve appreciated the most is Lisa’s love for the farming lifestyle and her passion to share it with her students. To Lisa, thank you! I am farming and selling beautiful flowers partly because you taught me how and told me I could do it! To those of you wondering if you should sign up for the class…..DO IT! You won’t regret it!
Jennifer Parker – This journey started off as a way to beautify my farm and provide a little extra income. Now, I feel equipped to do so much more! I had never grown cut flowers, and now I can start seeds confidently through soil blocking and am on my way. The syllabus is broken down into manageable weekly chunks of information and Lisa’s teaching methods are thorough and easy to understand. Through her wit and endearing personality, I have even learned some valuable life lessons including time management strategies, ie. “don’t go down the rabbit hole” and the value in sharing the fruits of your labor. I HIGHLY recommend this course! It was worth every penny and has truly changed my life.
Gina Hamilton –
Julie G. – My only regret is not taking her class sooner! Lisa is a rockstar. She doesn’t mince words and she shares not only her successes but her mistakes too. She is approachable and responsive to her students. Accessibility is important folks. Lisa makes the learning process of flower farming fun and she covers it all. She cares about her students and continues to check in on her facebook page with students long after the workshop ends. The knowledge, expertise and tips were mucho appreciated. Thank you Lisa.
Melisa Gordon – Completely worth the price! Detailed, yet easy to understand information!
Ksana – I loved this class. The lessons are well planned, full of practical and fantastic content, and broken down into achievable time commitments.
Sheri Hovey – This is an amazing course! Lisa shares all of her tips and tricks of the trade (over 20 years worth). Her course covers how to start a business, getting organized, field prep, seed starting, cool and tender annual grow tips and of course harvesting and selling! Each week students are able to submit questions and her Q&A’s (3 years worth) are super informative. She also shares her suppliers for all of the tools and equipment she uses during the process! A must course for anyone serious about increasing their flower power knowledge!!
Jenn –
Lisa’s course is a great introduction to small scale farming of annual crops. Lisa is full of positivity, charismatic and upfront with details of how to make your growing/harvesting system work well. The knowledge she provides on how to run your farm as a successful business is invaluable.
I thought I knew enough to get my suburban gardens growing for selling but having taken this course, I am much better prepared to start my flowers and my business on the right track.
The community we’ve built from the pool of students is also invaluable. We help eachother along, especially in these early days, having the same teachings and resources to refer to. Thank you Lisa for all of your help and teachings!
Karin –
A practical and inspiring course with great content, taught by an expert in the field who hasn’t forgotten what it feels like to be new to the game!
Yvonne Pegram –
I enjoyed this class so much it was very informative. I have learned so much and love the fact that I can go back and look over the courses again and again because I’m continuing to learn. Thank you to Lisa and her crew. ā¤ I now can start my flower farm. I also love all of the webinars they are so educational as well. I’m so thankful that I found Lisa.
Dianne –
This course is great for all beginners and farmers in their early years who are struggling with aspects of the farming/business side of flowers. I took it in 2019 and the new info added to the 2020 course was amazing. Lisa gives freely of her knowledge and wants you to be a success. As she continues to fill out this course it will perhaps become the must-take course for all new flower farmers. It saves you from making those costly mistakes you’ll otherwise have to. learn by experience. Two thumbs up!
Beth Holland –
Lisa has taught me everything I need to know to get this business up and running. She was born to be a teacher and the added benefit for us is she’s the ‘go to’ for all flower farming! Her style of teaching is what attracted me to her after looking at other flower courses. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture from Auburn University and I can honestly say I learned SO much about flowers from Lisa. We didn’t’ go into this much detail in school. She’s been in the business for years and provides her knowledge as a business person. I feel so blessed to have found this class! Any time I get stumped, I can look back on the class lesson and watch the video again. This is PRICELESS. At 45 years old, I’m opening my first flower farm this Spring, thank you so much Lisa! God bless your family and your business!
Ann Call –
Lisa is a natural teacher and happily shares the wealth of knowledge she has gained in her many years of being a flower farmer. The information in the course is very helpful for the brand new soon-to-be flower farmer to those who have been flower farming for a few years! I’ll be re-watching many of the teaching videos as I progress on my path as a brand new flower farmer. I also appreciate the closed Facebook group for those taking the class together and now the closed Facebook group for ALL previous class participants! Well worth the money and time!!
Kristi coverstone –
Let me say just wow! What I learned from the seed starting process alone was worth the price of the course! Im still working through it and I already have learned so much specific info! Do yourself a favor and take these classes! 5 stars! Lisa is wonderful!
Heather Lindsey –
If you’re wondering if you should spend the money. It’s worth it!
If you’re wondering if you have the time. Make it. It’s worth it!
Lisa provides so much good information in an easy, fun, down to earth way. She is awesome and her courses are fantastic!
Heather Letarte –
I can’t say enough about how helpful this course was.
Sandie –
Lisa is a go to source for not only for her knowledge but for her supplies to buy for gardening and flower growing. The topics are delivered in a realistic way and easy to follow. Each time I have ordered a product off of Lisa’s web page it is delivered on time… every time. I love Lisa’s teaching style as well:) Thank you Lisa!
Patrice Hopkins –
Hands down, this has been the best online course I’ve ever taken!!! Lisa, I just love your candidness, your energy, being down-to-earth and sharing your triumphs as well as your challenges – yet you still rise above it all and gave us the know-how to get over the obstacles.
I’m so glad you shared all of the videos and resources!! Also, glad you out this in bite-size pieces for us to understand and “get it.” That did allow me to think more instead of just jumping out there as it’s easy to do bc this is exciting but you reminded us of the foundation. It was real life, real talk about our time and what sacrifices we would have to make.
You have set us up for greatness! This has been well worth the time and cost!! We leave with so much more than what we came into the class knowing. Thank you for sacrifice of time, honesty, open mindedness, optimistic outlook and humility in sharing your gifts with the world. It really means so much that you’re not just an instructor but you have invested in our futures as our flower farming mentor and wise business advisor! Can’t wait to share with you the outcome of my future business!!
Warm regards, Patrice
Marni Martin McTavish –
This was the course I needed to help me focus in on the important things needed to begin my farm. Lisa and her team provide in-depth, insightful information needed to grow well and develop a customer base. I am in a northern region and I was able to adapt Lisa’s information for my zone with ease. I loved the live Zoom Q&A’s and Lisa’s continued help online. I highly recommend this course!
Jenevieve –
Love Lisa’s down-to-earth attitude and practicality. Some good, solid information in here, and the categories of information are very useful for thinking through all the things you need to think through. Presentation is a little dated—it’s mostly voice over PowerPoint bullets. I would have liked more videos, or at least photographs, showing the specifics of how she does things.
Katie –
I really debated if it was worth the money to take this course. Now I can say that it definitely was worth it! Lisa did a great job teaching us how to properly start a business, grow seedlings, plant flowers, and harvest them. I loved the class and have learned so much from Lisa! I didn’t know how much I didn’t know. Thank you Lisa!
Brenda –
Absolutely loved the class. It was so well laid out and is the best starting spot for me. I like to do things right and can be a perfectionist (which means I procrastinate). However, with this class I have a clear, correct path going forward. I highly recommend it to anyone starting small and wanting to get started the correct way.
Alisha Ingram –
Lisa is so full of knowledge and experiences and she shares it all! She has a heart for education and will answer ANY questions you have. The class is very well structured, you have ample time to watch and digest your videos before the live Q&A, the Facebook page is worth the price of the class itself and you can always go back and rewatch which I highly suggest! I was not disappointed in the slightest! Great investment!!
Kathi –
I have learned SO MUCH from this course and the Q&A’s and the closed FB page. This has been a beacon of hope in 2020! I continue to learn as I relisten to classes. Thank you SO MUCH Lisa!!!!
Elaine Elmore –
Such an awesome and inspiring First Step class into Flower Farming…I am sure there are so many things I missed that a year or two from now will ring loud and clear! Lisa is so through and caring! So grateful to be part of the TGW Flower Family!
Linda –
If you are on the fence about whether or not to take this class like I was, let me encourage you to just DO IT! I had followed Lisa online for a couple of years longing to take her class, but not daring to spend the money. I bought her Cool Flowers book and it quickly became my #1 resource that I referred to daily while planning, planting, and harvesting my garden. I consider myself a very experienced gardener for over 30 years, but her cool flower methods were a huge game changer for me. I live on a frugal budget so I agonized about whether I should spend money on this class. Would it be worth it? How could I justify it? Would it offer that much more than the free resources I could find online? I hadn’t invested in classes, advancing my skills, or learning experiences in years. Some strong need deep inside me finally made me sign up, but not without trepidation. ABSOLUTELY NO REGRETS! I have learned SO MUCH! Worth every penny! Everything all the other reviewers have said about the class and how wonderful a teacher Lisa is is so true and I can’t say it any better. I feel so enriched and love online learning – it’s been so fun! The private FB group of classmates is invaluable. I was never much of a FB user, but everyone is so kind and supportive and I continue to learn so much from my classmates daily. I plan to sign up for more classes offered by The Gardeners Workshop. Whether you just want to continue gardening or start or improve upon a small flower business like I have, this course and the flower farmer family you will become apart of, will be invaluable to your life-long learning journey. Really, just do it!
Tina Loitz –
Highly recommend this course. Lisa shares a ton of first hand information from her many years of being a very successful flower farmer. All the tricks of the trade are shared with this course. Beneficial to all walks of flower lovers, to beginners to flower farmers.
Thank you Lisa and her lovely Team for such a wonderful experience with the course and her fb group.
Jeanne –
Flower Farming School is a comprehensive, absolutely thorough study of how to grow cut flowers for profit. Lisa is so likable and funny, not to mention knowledgeable. She’s the Energizer Bunny of flower farming. She has given so much of herself and her experiences so we can learn and avoid some mistakes.
Sandy Sharp –
Thank you for the amazing amount of information that you have imparted on us. I love that I am able to go back to re-read and absorb more at a later date. And thank for being so open and welcoming to us all. I appreciate your honesty and not holding back with both the good and the hard stuff that comes with flower farming. Looking forward to getting my hands back in the soil with my new found knowledge! Thank you, Lisa!
Varetta –
This cut flower farming online course was beyond anything I thought it would or could be. It worth every coin it cost and beyond. I was hesitant about an online course, but Lisa Ziegler knock it out the park. I am a hand on, tell show do person and she for filled all that. The information from start to finish was outstanding.
We will move from Maryland to the Gloucester, Virginia area this 2021 and this course has helped so much to move me from Gardener, Master Gardener to Flower Farm!!!
My head is spinning and I can’t even play in the soil but there is so much to do and continue to learn on the business level. Flower Farming is in my blood now. I’m already listening to different sessions again!
Thank you Lisa Ziegler for having a desire to share and teaching your successes, failure and dreams. You are so brilliant to put our class in a FB group, this rocks!!
I don’t remember how I found to but I remember your beautiful rows of zinnias my favorite flower, give me the aha moment that if I grow that row that I had dreamed of many times, that I could sale them and not just look at they. Then discovered I would become a cut -flower farmer by doing so…who know!!!! So now I’m putting down my dental hygiene tool and picking up my farming tool with confidence because of Gardener’s Workshop Flower Farming Online Course.
Thank you again,
V
Melody Richards –
I really enjoyed this course! I was nervous because I took the Floret workshop earlier this year and thought there would be a lot of overlapping info. However, I felt like every class had new info and lots of practical tips that were different than Floret’s, thus expanding my flower farming knowledge even more. I love that Lisa teaches so much about cool flowers, soil blocking, and her methods of farming and marketing. I love how she’s tried so many different avenues of sales such as farmer’s markets, CSA’s, member only market, florists, online classes, etc. Her many years of experience and lessons learned is another reason this course is worth every penny. Her live Q&As are really beneficial as well. I’m grateful I have a lifetime of access to the course and an alumni Facebook page where when I have more flower questions, I can revisit the course or ask flower gurus on Facebook. Thank you, Lisa for an awesome flower farming course!
Debbie –
Just beginning my flower farming experience but I think this was an excellent class and excellent way to get started. Lisa does an awesome job of sharing her previous wins and loses to help us learn. A ton of information in a short time but the ability to go back and listen to everything as many times and for as long as needed is invaluable. Great opportunity to build a network with the current class members and previous alumni. I would recommend this class to anyone at any phase of their business.
Peggy Bryan –
This course is for anyone wanting to make the jump from dabbler to flower farmer. Lisa is a gifted teacher and she pours her heart and soul into this course. She teaches practical, proven methods and generously shares her growing tips and wealth of knowledge. The resources alone are worth the class fee, and on top of that, she answers all of the questions students can throw at her after each and every session. The Facebook closed group has been an added bonus in “meeting” other participants and encouraging one another. Hands down worth every penny!
Jennifer Dustin –
It was very good. I learned a lot and am looking forward to reviewing the large amount of material that I now have access too. I can’t wait to put into practice all I’ve learned in this course. Thank you Lisa and your team.
Margarete –
This class was my first ever online class, and I’m so glad I took it! Definitely worth every penny and more.
Besides the clear, easy to understand instruction and great support from Lisa and the other class members, I’ve learned what mistakes to avoid as well as how to figure out what will work in MY growing conditions and market.
I highly recommend this class!
April Campagna –
Great course for beginners as well as novice small farmers! I have a whole binder full of notes to reference. The closed FB group is awesome as well! The best part…..you have access forever!
Kathleen –
I have been growing for a couple of years, but am new at growing commercially. This course is exactly what I needed to take the next step in flower farming. This course is worth it’s weight in gold–filled will information on how to not only get your business going, but also informs you on the processes of who you can sell to and what to grow for those particular markets; and of course how to manage a working garden. Lisa and her team gives you tons of resources to get you going, whether you are just wanting to learn to grow cut flowers or sell them. It is the perfect course for beginners and seasoned growers alike.
Claire Koepp –
I took this course with little growing experience and big aspirations. This course is worth every penny! If you’re on the fence, hop over do it! The knowledge shared is gold. Time & money will be saved as I go along because of this foundational knowledge. Thank you, Lisa & Team!
Sarah –
It would take years of hard work and many failures to gain the knowledge that Lisa’s course provides in a few short weeks. Plus I have lifelong access to hundreds of other flower farmer’s (including Lisa herself) to help me navigate issues along the way! This course was a game changer for me!
Susan Gordon –
Wondering if you, a small home gardener should take this course? The answer is a resounding YES! I am over 70, gardened most of my life and I am so glad I signed up. It has helped me garden smarter, better, more productive all while spending less money. I return to the classes time and again refreshing my memory. Lisa is a very good teacher leaving no stone unturned. Not only do you get the course, a Facebook group is set up for each year’s class where you can ask questions knowing Lisa is monitoring and answering them. Take the leap, don’t put it off, set your calendar for the date sign ups begin. It will the beginning of a great love affair with your garden. It has made me seriously consider stepping it up a notch and become a flower farmer!
Mary B. Hayes –
Wow, this was an amazing “workshop.” Although it took me a long time to get through all the sessions, now that I’ve completed it, I’m a little sad about that! What an incredible wealth of information Lisa has shared, and all of it so down-to-earth and pragmatic. I started a few years ago with a holding bed for my gardens, which turned into a small cutting garden, which turned into a bigger cutting garden. I grow flowers primarily for use in my small floral design business. Lisa has helped me do everything more efficiently and cost effectively, and I’m seeing way more stems coming out of my little beds, and I’ve extended the growing season as well. Can’t say enough good things about this course, the clear explanations and videos, the resources, sharing what worked and what didn’t work, business acumen, and her encouragement and passion for flower farming. Highly recommended! Take it!
D. Cullen –
The information presented was truly beneficial. The worksheets are so helpful and the fact you can access the information after the classes is invaluable. I highly recommend this in line course.
Fawn Rueckert –
Even as a farmer with a few years under my belt I found great value in this course. Highly recommended!!
Christian Ingalls –
In this course you will get all of the nuts and bolts that are critical in the flower farming industry. This course is packed from where exactly to pinch a zinnia, how to make a measuring stick to streamline filling buckets and how to how important it is to set up and manage your business the right way from the beginning. Thank you Lisa!!!
Maria -San Giovanni’s Farm –
We are a certified organic vegetable and flower farm.
Lisa’s course is so very practical and extremely helpful and the ongoing mentoring one receives is phenomenal. Since taking Lisa’s course, the enjoyment of doing my flower farm “work” has increased significantly. I thought I had a pretty good understanding of how to seed, grow and sell flowers, but now with the information that I received in Lisa’s course – my confidence and JOY in flower farming has increased substantially and my failures, so far, this year, have decreased significantly. Lisa is an awesome instructor and mentor! So far – for me, Lisa’s course, her mentoring, the information that she continually shares via FB and her website has been and continues to be the most helpful resource that one can find online. Her hard work in continually sharing all her experience in business and flower farming has truly blessed my flower farming efforts! I am so very grateful I took her course and I look forward to being a student in the Advanced Flower Farm Course that she is offering this summer! Thank you, Lisa!
Rebecca –
This online school is really great for so many reasons! I’m an aspiring flower farmer here in central North Carolina, and it’s been so helpful to learn from Lisa who’s in my same zone, but in Virginia, with regards to what grows well (and what doesn’t), pest pressures, and the like. I’m not so business savvy, so I appreciated the business advice – it’s ok to start small, focus on growing a consistent and quality product for your customers, that business can be small, ramp up to higher production for a while, then scale down again and diversify or change directions. The weekly live sessions with Lisa are a great forum to get more information or clarification and for the little pearls of wisdom that come up. Lisa is very generous with her knowledge of flower farming (the growing and the business) and this was a really worthwhile investment.
Jamie Hendrix –
Lisa Mason Ziegler, I just wanted to say thank you for being such a wonderful teacher. Your course made such a difference. My husband and I were constantly saying, “Lisa said……”. You gave us knowledge and confidence. We made our first sell to a florist right before Mother’s day and have started contacting more florists. They are interested in all of our flowers. We weren’t sure how all this was going to play out this year, but we are seeing lots of opportunities. We couldn’t have done this without your course and all your teaching. THANK YOU For what you do!!
Pam Nuernberg –
Lisa is a teacher. Period! She has such a unique way of teaching. Her wealth of knowledge on flower farming is vast, yet she is so transparent and down to earth that her teaching doesn’t overwhelm you but makes you believe you can do this flower farming thing too. And we have!! We have followed her technique on soil blocking, etc., and have had an extremely successful first cool flower season. We refer back to her Cool Flower book and her course again and again as there is no way to learn it all the first time through. Both Lisa and Dave’s class were so worth the investment, particularly because that wealth of information is ours from now on and available to look back at anytime we need it. We are so grateful for the opportunity we had to take these courses.
Andrea Perry –
What an amazing course. Worth every penny and probably more. Step by step Lisa guides you through everything you didn’t know you needed to know ♥ļø
Radonna Parrish –
Can’t write enough about how much I appreciate Lisa’s online course for beginners. So much information from every perspective of the business. Plus, the additional bonus of continued support through the Facebook alumni community.
Janet Anderson –
I can’t tell anyone enough how much Lisa helped me get my business rolling! I never knew how many things I should start in trays. Sunflowers were one of them and they have saved me for sure! She is so knowledgeable and answers every question I have had. I highly recommend taking her course for sure. Best flower farming course ever!
Robin Barfield –
This class is amazing. It has all the tools to make you succeed. Every thing is at your finger tips to review with the app on your phone. Tons of videos and resources. Being a person with a learning disability hands down is the easiest classes to learn from. You need to take the classes if you’re a gardener or a farmer or even if you just like being outside. I can’t stress enough about this time saving and information you receive. Well worth the money. Best teacher ever. Lisa Mason Ziegler š
Robin Barfield –
This course is amazing. It gives you all the information you need to be successful. You always have the information at your fingertips with the app for your phone. And videos galore. Being a person with a learning disability is hands down the easiest course and all the learning tools you need to succeed. I would recommend this class to the gardener and farmers giving time saving work to make it easier on yourself. Money well spent. Best teacher ever!!
Anne Durham –
A couple of years ago I read Lisa’s book “Cool Flowers” followed by “Flowers Love Vegetables” – both books I highly recommend and refer back to often. I took Lisa’s class because I was intrigued with the cool flowers concept and how straight forward her teaching style is. I highly highly recommend this class. The scope of information is invaluable for anyone interested in pursuing this. While the course itself is terrific, the accessibility of Lisa following up with her students is incredible. She is genuinely interested in helping her students succeed – and does an amazing job answering questions through regular class follow ups as well as the private FB group associated with the course. After such a great experience with her class, I ended up taking every other class TGW offered. I found valuable information in each one – even if the subject matter didn’t necessarily apply to my goals at this time. The investment was worth it both in knowledge gained and hopefully mistakes averted!
Tina Higgins –
If your just starting out or have been growing for years this course is a game changer. One of the best investments I’ve made for the farm.
Jodie Morrison –
Lisa’s course was amazing! I am retired. Limited income. This was the best way to get my brain going and to start a new path. For me, being new at flower farming, this took me from A to Z. I have a full garden planted of seedlings. Lisa is patient, gives you answers over again if need be. This allowed me to learn, feel proud of what I did and meet amazing farmers. You never stop Learning once you take Lisa’s course. What a grand adventure I am on. Thank you Lisa for the 110% you give to us.
Amanda –
I had grown sunflowers and zinnias my first year and then I found Lisa’s course. I barely had flowers before July and thanks to what I’ve learned, I have flowers to sell for Mother’s Day. I looked at other courses and I’m so glad I settled on this one. It has more than paid for itself! If you are on the fence, just do it. Her real world approach made me feel like she was talking directly to me and never talked about my head.
Lana Szczepanski Nectar Farm LLC –
I am a new farmer and took Lisa’s Beginning Flower Farming School. I highly recommend this course for anyone considering flower farming or if you are an experienced grower looking to expand your knowledge base and support network. Lisa provides knowledge, tools and resources to help you become a successful grower. These courses and resources are available to you after you complete the class. In addition to the course materials you become part of a support network, a family of flower farmers, that can answer your questions and give feedback and support to things you encounter on your farm.
Again, I highly recommend the beginning course and I’m looking forward to taking the advanced course with Dave this year!
Brooke S. –
Where to start!? We started flower farming on books and research for three years and the third winter we bit the bullet and paid for a course. The first thing I realized was how much I was doing wrong lol, creating work for myself. Lisa helped me stream line with a no nonsense approach to production. Invaluable to us. I keep going back over the course for things I didn’t glean! And the alumni page…man, I learn at least one new thing a day from the pooled experience. I don’t guarantee much, but I guarantee you won’t regret purchasing this course.
Kim –
I learned so much from taking the flower farming course. Lisa is a great instructor and continues to offer valuable advice even after the course is done. I highly recommend her courses.
Gail Zmok –
It is with great pleasure that I can highly recommend Lisa’s “Flower farming school online.” Lisa’s course is a good value whether you have farmed and landscaped gardened your entire life like I and many others have, or are just starting out. Lisa has laid out an easy to follow weekly course followed up with weekly Q & A sessions. She freely shares how she started out in a relatable way and continues to add new videos and information. She has set up private fb alumni pages for us to post our questions and pictures. I find all of us reaching out to help each other with suggestions or sources. I call this group ” My flower farming family.” You should join our family, you will not regret it. We hold each other up, like a trellis holds our flowers.
Kristin Hoskins – Three Way Flower Farm –
Lisa’s classes will give you the confidence to do what you always dreamed of. Her straightforward, direct style of teaching sets your flower farm business up for success instead of sending you down a confusing rabbit hole. Lisa and Dave are both encouraging and approachable, always there to answer questions directly from you.
Jana Lefebvre –
I have always loved plants and flowers, so I thought “some more knowledge” will be nice. I didn’t know what I was getting myself into š The course totally sucks you in! Great classes, so much information, I never expected to learn this much. Lisa(she leads to classes) has a great way of explaining things in a way that even somebody who never farmed before (nor had a garden of their own like me) can understand and actually do it too! I learned so many details that if I tried to do this on my own it would have taken me years of trial and error!
Which flower seeds to purchase? How to get the beds ready? Who am I going to sell to? where should I start? How does one start? marketing? what should I do? what to do with the flowers after they are cut? Where do I order the “stuff”. What “stuff” do I actually really need?
The course explains all this plus a lot more.
Lisa has an online support group who answers all our quuestions as we really grow and sometimes “struggle” with unexpected: weather/ winds/pests/plants growing slower, pests etc and you always have someone to “help”.
During the classes once a week there is also a “Live Q&A” and Lisa answers any question you might have to the previous class, what really helps to make sure you understood the class. You also have an access to the previous years Q&A and that helps tons.
If I ever tried this on my own, I would have achieved 7/100. With the class, I think I got 90/100 and the rest is on me to figure out. If you are hesitant whether to buy the “expensive course”, please DO! You will make the money back in no time, selling beautiful flowers the right way! You will be a professional the first year, not just someone with flowers! It makes all the difference!
PS: I didn’t know at the beginnig if I was going to “like” Lisa and her classes. So I purchased a short course “The Easy Cut Flower Garden” to “test” her our, see how those courses run. Well, she swept me of my feet, I loved the course and I decided she was the right person for my money. Today I have my first flower ever blooming and I will sell them this weekend for Mothers Day!
Buy the course, it will be a game-changer in your life! Plus you can do this from the begginning as a “hobby” together with you other job and later go full speed. I am a home stay mom with a toddler right now and it is doable! Do not hesitate.
Wendy Brubaker –
Our decision to put ourselves, my daughter and I, through Lisa’s Flower School was the best investment ever for our homeschool! It was a great way to begin our 2nd growing season alongside my teenage daughter. It put us on an even playing field as partners in our flower farming adventure. There is [almost] not a day goes by that we dont refer to and replay parts of class. The alumni Facebook page is wonderful with Lisa chiming in regularly. Thankyou from the bottom of our hearts for pouring yourself into a down-to-earth, at times humourous and entertaining dialogue of practical and straightforward techniques and flower farming meat for the commercial grower.
Elizabeth A. –
Outstanding! If you are looking to learn about the nuts and bolts of running a flower farm, these classes are for you. If you just want to improve your knowledge and skill, this is for you. Lisa and Dave share their wealth of experience in an easy to learn format available to fit your schedule. I strongly recommend their classes to all my gardening friends.
Rick Walker –
Great course. Dave explained everything so that even a rookie like me understood what he was teaching. I will continue to monitor the course for updates. Thanks Dave Dowling and Lisa Mason Ziegler for helping us all become better flower farmers.
Red Barn Farm, River Falls, WI –
We have been growing veggies for 18 years and flowers for 15. I took both Dave’s and Lisa’s course this past winter and learned a lot about some new ways and flowers to plant. Some of the info i won’t be able to use now but the great thing is I can go back and reference the information when I’m ready for that next step! I highly recommend both courses!!
Valerie Kay –
I’m a newbie grower from Southeast Asia. Since I have a different growing zone, I asked Dave with questions that are completely not in sync with what my other classmates asked. Dave answers all of my questions in details and extensively. I got my answers for all these questions that I have for so long. Totally worth it. I encourage all the growers around the world to take this course.
Same goes for Lisa course as well. For those of you who’s interested in flower farming I encourage you guys to take Lisa course as well!
Kim Manning Wands –
Lisa’s course lays the foundation for flower farming and then Dave’s course makes it explode with knowledge! I learned so much and am presently trying new plants and flowers that I discovered through his course. What a great team these guys make!! Highly recommend this class!!!
Shelia Ball Walls –
I took both classes this past year. I was afraid I might be wasting my money. I have been a home gardener for 25 years and know a lot about flowers and plants and growing conditions in the landscape. However, I learned quickly that is not the same as flower Farming! Lisa and Dave both have a wealth of knowledge that have been extremely helpful to me to get started in cut flower production. I also love that I can go back and listen to different parts of a course to refresh my memory! You will learn to work smarter and plan better from these courses!

Meet Lisa
What began as a small cut-flower farm producing for local markets has grown into so much more. Lisa has become a leader in the cut-flower growing industry, author, accomplished speaker, teacher, and the owner of The Gardener’s Workshop.
It all began in 1998 because Lisa wanted to work in her garden as her career. At first, she sold her cut flowers to local florists and Colonial Williamsburg. The business soon grew to include florists throughout the Hampton Roads region, supermarkets, farmers markets, a members-only on-farm market, and a bouquet drop-off subscription service.
During this time Lisa began giving programs to garden clubs, master gardeners, commercial growers, and other groups. What became apparent is that people were eager for her simplified organic gardening methods and her greatest gift is sharing them.
The next natural step came when Lisa self-published The Easy Cut-Flower Garden in 2011 (currently out-of-print) a 100-page guide on how to grow and harvest a small home cutting garden. Her program travels began to spread from Texas to Oregon to New York City and she went on to become published with Cool Flowers in 2014 (St. Lynn’s Press) and Vegetables Love Flowers (Cool Springs Press 2018.)
In 2018 Lisa began creating online courses to share her programs and teachings. This style of teaching with its convenience, cost-effectiveness, and lifetime unlimited access has proven to be another wonderful teaching tool. In 2019, embracing this technology even further and building an amazing in-house support administration team has allowed Lisa to produce online courses for others.
Lisa’s farm, known as The Gardener’s Workshop is still a small market flower farm (100% outdoor field grown), and an online garden shop. The online store sells the same seeds, tools, supplies, and seed starting equipment that Lisa uses as well as signed copies of her books. Lisa’s simple, instructive, and delightful gardening messages are reaching far beyond any expectation she ever had.
Lisa has been a member of the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers since 2001 and served as the Mid-Atlantic Regional Director from 2016 to 2020. She is also a member of Garden Communicators International.

We took Lisa’s course in 2018 as we were starting our farm. She imparts so much practical knowledge in easy to understand slides and videos. And unlike other courses, the support Lisa provides after the course is absolutely invaluable. She really cares about your success!

My only regret is not taking her class sooner!
Gina Hamilton - Black Barn Blossoms
As a 2nd year Flower Farmer I was amazed at how much new information I gained from Lisa’s course! I love the fact that I can go back and reference all of the class info at any time. Well worth the cost! If you are a newbie or somewhat experienced gardener, you won’t be disappointed. Thumbs up all the way!!
Melisa Gordon
Completely worth the price! Detailed, yet easy to understand information!

Sharon L Celaya – May 30
Janie Hansen – May 30I have learned so much from Lisa Mason Ziegler’s class, her free videos, and live blogs.

Thank you š
Sherry – I scratched my head wondering “Why is this course so cheap while others are more than twice the expensive?” My intuition told me “Take the plunge!”
By far the BEST investment I have ever made as a new flower farmer. Lisa’s coursework goes into great depth with slide presentations, pictures, videos, and access to her each week.
Oh no, it doesn’t stop there! She answers question on the private Facebook Group as well as live events on FB, Instagram, and Clubhouse, along with live pop ups. You’re never left hanging! Don’t know how she does it…the woman never rests!!! š¤Æ
And…you have the course for life š². I have replayed this course several times and learned something new each time. It’s so great to have this access during the thick of it. Many, many bonuses too. And she does this all with such care and patience. š
Needless to say…I highly recommend!
